Located atop the bluffs of the Missouri River, Native Stone is a 300 acre estate operated by Michele and Chris Barrows. The estate has been farmed by the Stauffer family since the 1960’s and is named for the national award-winning play “Native Stone” written by Jim Steerman, and based on lives of the Stauffer family’s ancestors.
In 1804, Lewis and Clark explored the riverside of Native Stone, noting a large rock formation in their journals. That rock formation is “Bull Rock”. Bull Rock Brewery was named in honor of Lewis & Clark’s discovery.
In celebration of the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial, Native Stone opened a two mile hiking trail to Bull Rock. Signage on the trail chronicles the Corps of Discovery’s trip through Missouri.
A 19’th century farmhouse is home to Native Stone’s tasting room, gift shop, and restaurant, which seats 60 inside and over 100 on the covered decks, sunny patios and manicured lawns.
We offer a full menu for lunch and dinner, domestic beer and our own microbrews, a full bar...and of course...wine!
